The Atlantic Coat Pipeline has signed compensation agreements with 80 percent of landowners in the path of its proposed 600-mile natural gas pipeline. Those who don’t voluntarily yield their properties for the project will face eminent domain proceedings in court.
The N.C. Department of Transportation recently awarded Penhall Co. of Los Angeles a $10.2 million contract to repair Interstate 40 from mile marker 313, near N.C. 42, to just beyond the Interstate 95 interchange in Johnston County.
